Calibration and Validation both are the different things, but most of the persons have the confusion in the same. They both are interrelated with each other. There are three basic terms which uses in the scientific instrumentation field; Calibration, Verification & Validation.
These three are interrelated with each other, where Calibration is the procedure to adjust the values to be more precise and accurate of an instrument as per the known standard
Validation is the way which ensures that the system functioning correctly or not
What is Calibration?
Calibration is the procedure to adjust the values to be more precise and accurate as per the reference standards solutions. Calibration of the instrument is very important; it also helps to validate the data for the future measurement. The calibration standards are the standards which already checked and also offer NIST standards.
For Example : PH Buffer Solution 4, 7, 10, Conductivity Buffer solution and many more
What is Validation?
Validation is the procedure that ensures that the instrument is working fine and showing the correct results. Validation is the procedure which confirms that your instrument is working fine.
